A yellow weather warning for fog has been issued for parts of Greater Manchester and Lancashire this morning, Wednesday. The Met Office alert came into effect at 4:01am and is set to last until around 10am. The weather service warns that dense fog could cause travel delays in areas impacted, which includes some parts of Bury, Bolton, Preston and Sale.

The Met Office warns that delays to bus and train services are possible and that there is a chance of delays or cancellations to flights. A spokesperson said: "Areas of fog will be dense in places, reducing visibility to less than 100m at times which may lead to some travel delays.
"Fog will lift and clear during the morning." The warning has a medium likelihood and a low impact..
