The virus has spread rapidly through Toi Khulla, Zarmelan, Birmal, Shakai, and Wana, with over a dozen animal deaths and hundreds infected, sparking fears of a spreading health and economic crisis. Veterinary officials say no immunisation campaigns were carried out over the past year, and hospitals face acute shortages of medicine and supplies.

Staff report being unable to respond due to the lack of government funding. Contaminated meat is reportedly being sold in markets without checks, raising the risk of zoonotic transmission. Health experts warn this could endanger human lives if not urgently addressed.
