John Higgins couldn't resist a cheeky dig at Ally McCoist during a TV appearance. The two were at the Crucible for the World Snooker Championships, where McCoist was part of the TNT Sports commentary team. They know each other well, but Higgins couldn't help but make a football jibe at his friend.
It came as McCoist and Darren Fletcher shared they had both successfully attempted Dennis Taylor's black ball off-camera. Fletcher said: "We both had a go at Dennis's winning black, and would it surprise you at all to know that Ally..
." Higgins interrupted: "Fluked it? "I've watched him enough at Rangers over the years!" This sparked laughter in the studio. McCoist then said: "We both got it, the worrying thing is we used Jimmy [White's] cue.
"I couldn't believe how light his cue was." Higgins later asked McCoist about the future of Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers . He asked: "I’ve just seen reports that [Daniel] Levy is trying to get Brendan Rodgers to go to Tottenham Hotspur – is there any truth in that rumour?" McCoist replied: "John, I’ll be honest with you mate, I’m trying to get him to go anywhere!".
