Satellite imagery captured flashes of lighting as thunderstorms advanced over the swollen waterways and inundated areas of the Midwest and Mid-South on April 10.A stalling storm system caused widespread extreme flooding in the region, with 26 river gauges in major flood stage by April 9. At least 24 people in Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Georgia, Arkansas, Mississippi and Indiana have died as a result of the storms and floods, according to officials.Severe thunderstorm warnings were in place for Missouri, while Tennessee put a large part of western and central parts under a thunderstorm watch on Thursday evening.
