FIVE-STAR COMMIT: Auburn women’s basketball lands verbal from highly touted Nylah Wilson just before signing day

A new boom has rung out over the Plains. Top-30 combo guard Nylah Wilson committed Saturday to Auburn women’s basketball and head coach Johnnie Harris. Wilson is part of the class of 2025 and is ranked as the No.

28 prospect nationally in her class in the latest espnW 100. She is rated as a five-star prospect in the same rankings, and will sign standing among the highest-touted signees to ever sign with the program. Auburn won’t have to wait long for the signature, either: The signing period for her class opens on Wednesday, Nov.



13. Wilson announced her commitment on Instagram. Wilson is playing this season at IMG Academy, the famous prospect factory in Bradenton, Fla.

She transferred there recently from Thomas Dale High School in Chesterfield County, Va. According to WTVR in Virginia, she averaged over 21 points per game and upwards of five assists and four rebounds per game last season, being named all-state in Virginia and leading her team to the state championship game in her classification. She plays AAU with the Boo Williams 17U team.

Wilson’s commit comes as excitement swells around women’s basketball in general and Auburn women’s basketball, which has re-written many of its attendance records in recent seasons. The Tigers are 2-0 on the season after a 65-31 win over Southern Illinois then a 128-36 win over Virginia University-Lynchburg. Recruiting has been successful for Auburn under Harris, most recently signing and now playing freshmen Jordan Hunter and Syriah Daniels, both all-state players in Class 7A last season as seniors in Alabama.

Auburn already holds a commitment in the class of 2025 for Brandie Harrod, a guard from Oklahoma ranked as the No. 59 prospect in the class in the espnW 100. Wilson will be among the most highly touted prospects to sign with Auburn.

Robyn Benton in the class of 2018 signed as the No. 17 prospect nationally. Brooke Moore also signed in 2018 as the nation’s No.
