The chemistry between wide receiver Mike Williams and quarterback Aaron Rodgers is seemingly non-existent. The New York Jets signed Williams to a free-agent contract this past March in an attempt to upgrade the arsenal around Rodgers, but the rapport has been extremely slow to develop. Williams, who is coming off an ACL surgery, has garnered only 19 targets over eight appearances.
Last time out, Williams was on the field for 33 offensive snaps but there were no balls thrown his way. He has a pedestrian 160 receiving yards and no touchdown on 10 catches through eight weeks, and sits behind Garrett Wilson, Davante Adams and Allen Lazard in the Jets' pass-catching pecking order. Williams was the intended receiver on late-game interceptions in back-to-back losses.
He earned the ire of Rodgers during his Week 7 postgame press conference. At this point, it may be beneficial for New York to trade the veteran to a desperate team and in exchange for draft assets. One potential destination is the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2), who lead the AFC North despite needing help at wide receiver.

Sportskeeda 's Tony Pauline cited sources linking the Steelers to three potential WR trades. In addition to Williams, the Black & Yellow are reportedly pursuing Darius Slayton (Giants) and Courtland Sutton (Broncos). Williams was somewhat of a non-factor again on Thursday Night Football .
With Lazard out due to injury, he caught 1 of 2 targets for six yards in the 21-13 victory over the Houston Texans on October 31.
