Lewis Chapman, 22, who had been a passenger in a grey Range Rover, was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash that happened around 8.25pm on the B6357 Annan-Canonbie-Jedburgh road in Dumfries and Galloway on Friday, December 13. Another passenger, a 39-year-old man, was taken to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle as a precaution.
The driver of the car, a 38-year-old man, was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment. Police said he was later arrested in connection with alleged road traffic offences and released pending further inquiries. Lewis has been described as 'one in a million' by devastated loved ones.

Sergeant Wayne Carnochan said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. "We are asking anyone who may have information to contact us. The road where the crash happened connects the town of Annan with the A74 motorway at Eaglesfield.
