In the Open Men’s category final, Wairere defeated the Elementz 6-5 and defended their title for a third time. Royalty handed Fullsend a 4-3 defeat in the Open Women’s finals to also defend their title for a third year in a row.
The Pakas team were defeated 1-9 by 2 Fresh in the Mixed Open category. The day closed off with the Mixed Masters final, where 2 Fresh won 7-5 over Taranaki. As the dust settles in Lawaqa after two days of intense touch rugby, the Fijian Cup heads into its second leg next week, where rugby sevens is billed for competition.
