A tuition group has won two awards at the Northern Enterprise Awards. A Star Tuition Group, which provides tuition services in Greater Manchester, was named Greater Manchester 11+ and GCSE Tuition Service of the Year and received the Innovation Award for Bespoke Educational Support. It is based in Ramsbottom.
The awards recognise the group's commitment to providing 'high-quality, child-centred tuition' for students aged 8 to adults. The Northern Enterprise Awards celebrate the 'excellence and impact' of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the North of the UK. A Star Tuition Group was recognised for its ability to tailor educational programmes to the needs of each student, ensuring that all learners achieve the 'best possible results'.
The 11+ Exam Accelerator Programme was praised for its content delivery, which combines its strategies with academic preparation to build confidence and exam techniques. This approach has 'consistently delivered an outstanding pass rate' according to the tuition group, enabling students to secure places at grammar schools. Graduates of this programme have gone on to succeed at institutions including Bolton School, Bury Grammar, Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar, and Trafford Grammar Schools.
The company's Science Mastery Academy, designed for Year 10 and Year 11 students aiming for Grade 7+ in GCSE Science , was also praised. The programme, led by Dr Hanna, a PhD in Chemical Biology and experienced GCSE examiner, is designed to help students 'gain mastery in challenging scientific concepts while building confidence and exam techniques.'
