MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI – Firefighters responded Sunday, Oct. 20, to an ammonia leak at Trinity Health Arena. Muskegon firefighters entered the facility, home to the Muskegon Lumberjacks, in the morning and shut off a compressor system to stop an active leak and make sure no one was inside.

The Muskegon County Hazardous Materials Response Team then went inside to monitor air conditions and determine the source of the leak. The team worked with a contractor for the ice rink to find the fault in the system. Once the system was working properly, firefighters determined there were no other leaks.

The team conducted air tests in the arena and connected businesses to make sure it was safe to enter..
