The blaze quickly spread and engulfed the area A devastating fire has reportedly destroyed over 150 structures near the Madina Redco flats, affecting both residential and commercial properties. According to reports that went viral on X on April 19, 2025, the fire broke out around 11:15 pm on April 18, 2025. The blaze subsequently spread and engulfed the area.
Reports further indicated that fire fighters from Madina, Adenta, Legon, Abelemkpe, and the headquarters battled to quench the fire for over three hours. Eventually, they brought it under control at around 2:22 am on April 19, 2025. Unfortunately, the fire reportedly claimed the life of a young Nigerian woman, identified only as Beauty, believed to be in her early twenties.
According to reports, she was trapped in the blaze, unable to escape. Her remains have since been handed over to the police for further investigations. However, despite the extensive damage, firefighters managed to prevent the flames from spreading to over 200 nearby structures, including the Redco flats.
