An early morning fire destroyed a home in Trenton on Wednesday. The fire broke out about 12:08 a.m.
at the home on Captain Douglas Lane, according to Steve Heckman, the chief of the Trenton Volunteer Fire Department. When firefighters arrived, they saw flames coming through the roof, sides and front of the house, Heckman said Wednesday morning. Crews quickly gained control of the fire, but the house had already sustained “heavy fire damage.
” The home was under renovation at the time of the fire, and no one was home. The home, tools and its contents are a “total loss.” “It was reported that the home was currently not insured as construction was still underway,” Heckman said.
