Fire breaks out at Andhra Pradesh Secretariat at Velagapudi

A fire broke out in the second block of the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat at Velagapudi near Vijayawada on Friday (April 4, 2025). No casualties are reported so far. The extent of damage is yet to be ascertained.

According to information, the fire started in an area where batteries were stored. Upon receiving the information, the SPF personnel immediately alerted the fire safety team. The fire safety personnel rushed to the spot and managed to control the flames.



Authorities are investigating whether the incident was an accident or if there was any foul play involved. The second block of the Secretariat houses the offices of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar, Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Municipal Administration Minister Narayana, and Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha. Since the fire broke out in the early hours, no staff members were inside the offices at the time.
