Hyderabad: A fire broke out on Monday in a plush hotel where the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team was lodged.According to police and fire department officials, the incident took place at the Park Hyatt Hyderabad, located in the posh Banjara Hills locality.The fire was sparked in the steam room of a spa on the first floor of the hotel, due to a suspected short circuit, reported PTI.
No one was present there at that time.The hotel was surrounded by a thick blanket of smoke. The fire was doused without delay and no one was injured in the incident.
“It was a minor fire and a fire engine was rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control quickly,” said an official at Banjara Hills Police Station.All guests, including some of the SRH players staying in that wing, were evacuated. The team checked out some time later, having to fly to Mumbai for their next IPL match against Mumbai Indians on April 17.
