FIR registered 2 days after man is killed in accident

Ludhiana: Kin of an accident victim on Wednesday staged a protest outside Haibowal police station, seeking registration of an FIR against the SUV driver. A case was registered after the protest. On Friday night, deceased Surjit Singh was going on a bike to drop his employee home and as they reached near Sant Vihar, an SUV hit their bike.

Surjit Singh suffered injuries and the accused managed to escape. The family rushed the victim to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries on Monday. The deceased’s son Lovepreet Singh said that even after two days of the incident, the police had not lodge any FIR.
