FIR lodged over anti-government posters in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Police have registered a suo-motu case against Saakappasaaku.com and others for pasting posters with a QR code against Congress govt. The individuals who pasted the posters encouraged people to scan the QR code and vote against the govt.

Based on the complaint filed by Mahadev HJ, sub-inspector of Halasurgate police station , the FIR is registered under the Karnataka Open Place Disfigurement Act , and the probe is ongoing. The police received a tip-off about the posters being put up on BMTC bus shelters near Maharani College Junction, KR Circle, and in front of the BBMP headquarters on Wednesday evening. The police rushed to the spot and found the posters.



The posters contained a QR code and text stating ‘sakappasaku Congress sarkara'(meaning enough is enough Congress govt). People were asked to scan the QR code and vote for the campaign. Saakappasaaku.

com was mentioned at the bottom. Mahadev stated that pasting posters in a public place is a violation according to a high court order and BBMP circular. A senior police officer said, "We have done the mahazar procedure and will be serving notices to the administration staff of Saakappasaaku.

com and others, who pasted the posters by verifying CCTV cameras in the surrounding places, and necessary action will be taken." Police sources said they are yet to verify the background of Saakappasaaku.com.
