AMERICANS can cash in on a huge payout of up to $5,000 from a $1.5 million data breach settlement. The money is being handed out by Ingo Money to settle claims that it compromised sensitive information, after failing to prevent a data breach in 2023.

Ingo Money is a financial tech company that offers services like mobile check cashing, payment solutions and digital banking. The company agreed to a $1.5 million class action lawsuit to resolve claims about a data breach that reportedly took place on November 3, 2023.



The data breach is said to have compromised names, Social Security numbers, financial account information, driver’s license numbers and other sensitive data. Plaintiffs in the lawsuit argue that Ingo Money’s failure to put in place data security measures violated various state laws. 5 million class action settlement to resolve these allegations. Consumers can receive a payout of up to $5,000 for documented losses or a pro rata cash award. All class members can receive free credit monitoring and up to $1 million in identity theft insurance.

The deadline for submitting a valid claim form is April 25. Americans can also get up to $4,000 from a $7.5 million data breach settlement.
