The Minnesota Vikings will be without three players in their Week 3 matchup against the Houston Texans, who could also be without two players on offense. Minnesota did receive some positive news on Thursday, as wide receiver Justin Jefferson confirmed he will be playing on Sunday. The All-Pro injured his quad late in last week's matchup against the San Francisco 49ers and left the game in the fourth quarter.

Edge rusher Dallas Turner, wide receiver Jordan Addison, and linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. all have been ruled out for Minnesota.

Turner told reporters on Thursday he wouldn't be playing as the team confirmed it on Friday in the final injury report. He suffered a knee injury against San Francisco and said he's planning to return for Week 4's NFC North rival matchup against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Addison is still dealing with an ankle injury he initially hurt during a joint practice in training camp and re-aggravated it against the New York Giants in Week 1.

The second-year player didn't practice at all this week. Pace injured his. quad and ankle last week against the 49ers and was a limited practice participant on Wednesday and Thursday.

However, he didn't log a practice on Friday and the Vikings will have to move forward without his services against the Texans. Look for players like Brian Asamoah II and Kamu Grugier-Hill to help fill the void. As for Houston, backup running back Dameon Pierce is out for Sunday's game with a hamstring injury and starting running back Joe Mixon is doubtful to play.

If Mixon can't go, former Vikings running back Cam Akers could be starting for Houston. Tight end Dalton Schultz (ankle), safety M.J.

Stewart (knee) and offensive lineman Juice Scruggs (groin) are all questionable for the Texans. Kickoff is scheduled for noon CT at U.S.
