"Fight drugs": Arayat mayor to village chiefs

Arayat Mayor Madeth Alejandrino has directed the 30 village chiefs of the town to work on the eradication of illegal drugs in their community or resign from their post. Alejandrino relayed his directive to the barangay leaders after authorities seized P6.8-million worth of shabu from a resident of Barangay Mapalad, Arayat recently.

Alejandrino and Lieutenant Colonel Leo Bacon, Arayat’s chief of police, met with barangay officials during a flag ceremony on Monday. “Huwag ninyo sabihin na hindi niyo alam. Nasa kapitbahay lang, sa tabi-tabi lang tapos hindi niyo alam? Ibig sabihin tulog-tulog.



Kung hindi ninyo kaya o hindi natin kaya ang obligasyon natin sa mga tao, pwede tayong magresign,” the mayor told the barangay leaders. Alejandrino said she remains committed to continue the efforts of her late husband, former mayor Bon Alejandrino, on peace and order in the municipality. “Kahit babae ako, nagpapakatatag ako para sa aming bayan.

Itinutuloy ko at mas pinapaganda ko kung ano ang iniwan ni Mayor Bon kaya sana magtulung-tulong tayo,” she said..
