The federal government and Adamawa state government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to finalise the agreement on the handover and conversion of Cottage Hospital Hong and General Hospital Mubi into Federal Medical Centres. Speaking at the signing of MoU between the federal government and Adamawa state government, the Coordinating Minister for Health & Social Welfare, Prof.

Ali Pate, stated that the agreement signified a deliberate initiative of the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare to improve and expand healthcare services for all Nigerians, aligning with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Professor Pate was represented by the permanent secretary, Daju Kachollom, asserted that the upgrading is critical to expanding and strengthening of health services across the country. He said: “And with this signing, we believe that this movement will not just be for the people of Mubi and Hong, but for the entire North east and any of our neighbouring countries.



” The minister added that the conversion to federal institutions will enhance the health of the citizens and beyond in line with the mandate of the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare to provide quality and safe health care services. Speaking earlier, the deputy governor of Adamawa state, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, who also chaired the official handover and signing of the MoU commended the federal government through the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare for its foresight to upgrade the state’s health facilities.
