FESTIVE cheer is on the agenda after councillors approved funding support to Melrose Rotary Club. The registered charity was granted £675 from Scottish Borders Council’s William Hill Trust Sub-Committee, which met on Tuesday (December 10). The funds are to be used for a Christmas parade, a night of entertainment for those in sheltered accommodation, providing items needed at the district hospital, carol singing, school arts competitions and on a Santa’s grotto.
It is part of the rotary club’s remit to work to enhance the lives of those in the town, with all activities free to prevent anyone that is disadvantaged from exclusion..
