Father Christmas is set to pay a visit to Brighton Marina as part of fundraising plans for a lifeboat station. The Brighton lifeboat station in the marina will host its festive grotto from next month complete with Christmas refreshments, raffles and festive gifts. Funds from the event will also go towards helping the RNLI while the marina will be hosting its own toy drive to help bring toys to families in need at Christmas.
Sophie Chandler, marketing manager at Brighton Marina, said: “Christmas is always a magical time here at Brighton Marina, so we’re delighted to be announcing this year’s activities which will bring a fun and festive experiential element to guest’s visits. “The Brighton RNLI Christmas Grotto is set to be a popular local attraction, so we encourage guests to book early to guarantee their visits. “We recognize that the festive season is a time of togetherness and community, when everyone deserves to feel loved and cared for, which is why we’re supporting children facing a Christmas away from home with the Toy Appeal alongside Rockinghorse Children’s Charity.
“We look forward to creating some truly memorable moments for all our guests this festive season.” From December 7, adults and children will be able to meet Father Christmas at the grotto in the Brighton Lifeboat Station. Tickets for the event cost £10, with accompanying adults going free.
All proceeds will go to Brighton RNLI, and children will receive an age-appropriate gift. The marina will also be hosting a toy appeal for the Rockinghorse children’s charity with people encouraged to donate new and unused toys suitable for children of all ages. Donations can be made at the Brighton Marina information and security office near the Asda petrol station until 3pm on December 13.
