The first race takes place in Courmayeur, Italy, followed by a dramatic second race in Chamonix, France, beneath the towering peaks of Mont-Blanc.
With six years of competitive experience under his belt, Fergus is no stranger to the podium and is currently ranked fifth in the country for his age group (UTMB Index). "Trail running has been a big part of my life for several years now, I just love the sport so much - the freedom, the adventure and the community," he said. "And I'm very excited by the chance to compete internationally.
" Participating in the YCC will be a dream come true, allowing Fergus to test his skills against the world's best young athletes on a global stage. "The biggest challenge I'm facing is getting there, and that's why I've launched a fundraiser, as any support, big or small, means the world to me and will help me get to the starting line," he said. Trail running has grown exponentially in recent years, and Fergus is one of several young local athletes embracing the sport.
