Female lawyers condemn IHCBA president’s remarks about IHC judge

ISLAMABAD - As many as forty-three female lawyers on Monday condemned the statement of President Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) about judge of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Saman Raffat Imtiaz.

ISLAMABAD - As many as forty-three female lawyers on Monday condemned the statement of President Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) about judge of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Saman Raffat Imtiaz. The statement said that as the female lawyers, they condemned the recent statement given by the President of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) in which he made derogatory remarks regarding Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz. “As per numerous reports by journalists, the President of the IHCBA referred to Justice Saman as a ‘nihayat badtameez aurat’ (a very rude lady), and such unwarranted comments are condemned in the strongest possible terms,” said the statement.

The female lawyers said that women are severely underrepresented in our judicial system, and it is regrettable that members of the Bar speak with a sense of impunity when it comes to female judges.
