‘Felt like it was going to sink’: CityCat evacuated on Brisbane River

About 40 people were asked to get off a peak-hour service into the city, with one saying it appeared the boat was taking on water.

A Brisbane ferry has reportedly been evacuated on Thursday morning, with passengers telling Brisbane Times it appeared to be taking on water. About 40 people were asked to get off the 8.01am CityCat service from Hawthorne to Riverside.

Passengers mill at a Brisbane River ferry terminal after being told to alight from a CityCat. “[It] felt like it was going to sink and water seemed to be coming on,” a passenger said. “Bit of an ongoing issue as they are so overcrowded.
