Fed's focus shift: From data to policy

As the country faces whiplash under Trump's deluge of executive actions, Jerome Powell and the Federal Open Market Committee are left reacting despite the data they usually rely on, explained Apollo Chief Economist Torsten Sløk to Yahoo Finance Executive Editor Brian Sozzi on a recent episode of Opening Bid. "There's uncertainty about what's coming," Sløk pointed out. "And if we don't know what's coming when it comes to tariffs restrictions and immigration under our taxes, then they are having, probably, similar challenges with the spreadsheet that I'm having with my spreadsheet."
