The federal government confirmed that it opened an investigation into and took it home . RFK Jr., who has long been regarding his controversial conspiracy theories and anti-vaccination policies, admitted at a rally in Glendale, Arizona, on Saturday that he had he stumbled across and took it home with him.

The former independent presidential candidate, who dropped out and endorsed former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, bragged about the claim at his rally, calling the investigation by the National Marine Fisheries Institute "the weaponization of our government against political opponents." The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which oversees the institute, declined to comment on the ongoing investigation, it was previously reported. The heinous allegations about the whale decapitation began in 2012 when RFK Jr.

's daughter, Kathleen, recounted a disturbing journey home from the beach while her father drove along with the whale's head on the top of his vehicle. Kathleen told Town and Country magazine that, when she was 6 years old, her father got word that a dead whale had washed ashore. It wasn't clear where.

He immediately grabbed a chainsaw, she recalled, and cut off its head. He then strapped that head to the roof of the family's minivan and drove five hours with it home. "Every time we accelerated on the highway, whale juice would pour into the windows of the car, and it was the rankest think on the planet," Kathleen said.

"We all had plastic bags over our heads with mouth holes cut out, and people on the highway were giving us the finger, but that was just normal day-to-day stuff for us." Whales are protected under the Marine Mammal Protection Act and the Endangered Species Act, and RFK Jr.'s alleged actions violated both.

The independent said the deadline to press charges passed a long time ago, however, as he said that the case was tied to his endorsement of Trump. He declined to elaborate on the incident when questioned by reporters after his appearance in Glendale, stating that the media only wants to discuss "gossipy nonsense." He said, "I'm not interested in feeding that feature of the mainstream media.

" This isn't the only instance involving RFK Jr. and a dead animal, however, to come to light in recent months. Just last month, he only admitted that he had once retrieved a bear that had been killed by a motorist and left its carcass in Central Park in New York.

RFK Jr. adorned the carcass with a bicycle, which he placed on top of it. For over a decade, mystery engulfed the strange discovery, which was made by park-goers.
