SUKKUR - The Federal Ombudsman Secretariat Regional Office Sukkur on Wednesday held a public hearing at the Circuit House Khairpur, where over 100 complaints were heard, and more than 30 complainants received relief. The hearing was conducted under the directives of Federal Ombudsman Ijaz Ahmad Qureshi. The hearing addressed issues related to various organizations, including SEPCO, Higher Education Commission, Radio Pakistan, Sui Gas, Shah Abdul Latif University, Mehran University, Benazir Income Support, National Bank, FIA, State Life, Postal Life, National Highway, Motorway Police, and Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal.
Over 30 complaints were resolved, providing relief to the complainants, with compensation exceeding Rs 3.5 million. Revenue Officer Karamat Ali, Federal Ombudsman Abdullah Soomro, SEPCO Commercial Superintendent Mahmood Narejo, Information Officer Amanullah Channa, and other senior officials attended the hearing.
Associate Advisor Dr Abdul Waheed Indhar stated that the office receives complaints against various departments, including PTCL, SEPCO, NADRA, universities, and National Bank, and takes prompt action to provide relief to the complainants. He emphasized that the office takes legal action against any injustices faced by the complainants. Dr Indhar mentioned that instead of requiring people to visit the Regional Office Sukkur, the office holds public hearings in cities like Khairpur to provide relief and resolve issues locally.
