FDA seizes Rs14L worth food products during Ganeshotsav

Pune: The Food and Drug Administration ( FDA ) in Pune seized Rs 14.3 lakh worth of food items from establishments on suspicion of substandard production during Ganeshotsav . The administration conducted a drive 10 days prior and during the festival, inspecting all priority items used for food production.

During the drive, 48 units were inspected in Pune district, and 119 establishments were inspected in Solapur, Sangvi, and other districts under the Pune division. The administration seized 5.16 lakh worth of food products from Pune and 9.



19 lakh worth of products from all the other districts. "We conducted a sample analysis and immediately seized the substandard products to prevent sales. However, we are awaiting test results from the samples taken, after which we will take further action against the establishment," said Suresh Annapure, joint commissioner (food), FDA.
