ABUJA – The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has commended the Messengers of Peace Foundation (MOPF) for fostering love, tolerance, and unity among young people through its peace initiatives. The praise was delivered by the FCTA’s Social Development Secretariat (SDS) during the grand finale of the 2024/2025 Queens of Peace Nigeria/International event organized by MOPF and partners in Abuja. Hon.
Ibrahim Aminu, SDS Mandate Secretary, represented by Mr. Kayode Aiyegbusi, Acting Director, Department of Arts & Culture, highlighted the importance of peace, especially in today’s turbulent global climate. “The message of peace is not one for billboards; it must be practiced daily,” Aminu noted.
“To achieve peace in our country, we must live peacefully with our neighbors, despite our differences.” Dr. Suleiman Adejoh, National President of MOPF, echoed the need for peace, urging Nigerians to embrace dialogue over protest.
“If there is conflict, family members should come together to discuss it, and solutions will be found,” he stated. He also called on Nigerians to support the newly crowned queens, who represent peace across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. The event culminated in the handover of titles from the 2023 Queens of Peace to the 2024 queens, crowned after a two-week camp focused on peace, human rights, and leadership.
The gathering was enlivened by performances from MOP kids and SDS cultural troupes, celebrating Nigeria’s rich heritage of unity and diversity..
