FCPS union-backed candidates gain more ground in school board race; count to continue Saturday

Janie Monier moved up from third to second place in the Frederick County Board of Education race after additional mail-in ballots were processed on Friday, unofficial results from the Frederick County Board of Elections show. Monier, one of three candidates on the Frederick County Public Schools employee unions' "apple ballot," displaced Colt Morningstar Black — one of three candidates favored by the local Republican Central Committee.
