The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has initiated a crackdown on retailers and restaurants issuing manual receipts. The FBR has also launched an awareness campaign through social media and its official website, encouraging citizens to report violations via the “Assan Tax” application. To incentivise citizens, the FBR has announced the Inaami Scheme (cash rewards) for reporting manual receipts.

Those providing authentic information about receipts worth Rs 5,000 will receive a reward of Rs 10,000, while reporting receipts above Rs 10,000 will result in a reward of Rs 20,000. Citizens are required to provide the location, a picture, and the receipt details of the concerned retailer or restaurant. The campaign, which began on October 15, 2024, initially targets restaurants in Islamabad and will later be expanded nationwide.
