Pakistani stars Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan are set to make headlines once again with their blockbuster The Legend of Maula Jatt, which is now set to release in Indian theatres. Originally released in 2022, the film will be the first Pakistani movie in over a decade to hit Indian screens, sparking excitement on both sides of the border. Director Bilal Lashari and lead actress Mahira Khan shared the news on Instagram, with Bilal posting: "Releasing in India, Punjab on Wednesday, 2nd Oct! Two years in, and still house full on weekends in Pakistan! Now, I can't wait for our Punjabi audience in India to experience the magic of this labour of love.

" Mahira expressed her excitement more simply, sharing the film's poster on her Instagram Stories with the caption, "Let’s go." Fawad also joined in by reposting the announcement. A post shared by Bilal Lashari (@bilal_lashari) The Legend of Maula Jatt is a modern-day remake of the 1979 Pakistani cult classic Maula Jatt.

The film centres around the iconic rivalry between Maula Jatt, played by Fawad Khan, and the fierce gang leader Noori Natt, portrayed by Hamza Ali Abbasi. The epic showdown between hero and villain has captivated audiences since its release, and its impending debut in India is creating quite a buzz. This release is particularly significant given the long-standing ban on Pakistani artists in India, which was imposed after the Uri terror attack in 2016.

Fans are thrilled at the chance to finally see a Pakistani production on the big screen. The excitement around the film is even higher because both Fawad and Mahira are no strangers to Indian cinema. Fawad starred in popular Bollywood films like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Kapoor & Sons, and Khoobsurat, while Mahira made her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Raees.
