A father died of a catastrophic head injury, an inquest opening heard. Emad Samir Botros-Farag, 57, was pronounced dead at his home in Brighton on April 1. Emergency services were called to Hartfield Avenue following reports that a man was attacking multiple people inside a property.
Mr Botros-Farag’s son, Fabio Botros, 19, was arrested the same day on suspicion of murder. He was then charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder. A 49-year-old woman and an 11-year-old boy were also found seriously injured outside the property and taken to hospital.
They have since been discharged. The opening of the inquest into Mr Botros-Farag’s death stated that his cause of death was a head injury. Detectives said knives and a hammer were used in the alleged attack on Mr Botros-Farag, a Brighton Deliveroo driver and a long-serving deacon.
Coroner's officer Victoria Foreman said: "He was sadly found deceased at his home address with a head injury.
