'Fate' is back and better than ever Fate: Reawakened is a remastered collection of all four Fate action RPGs, combining the original Fate and all three of its sequels ( Fate: Undiscovered Realms, Fate: The Traitor Soul, and Fate: The Cursed King ) into a single bundle. Updates include a visual overhaul, soundtrack enhancement, a revamped UI, and plenty more. The Fate: Reawakened collection is developed by Tableflip and published by gamigo, and is available now on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store , as well as PlayStation , Xbox , and Nintendo Switch consoles.
If you grew up playing just about any game you could get your hands on for the family computer or laptop in the mid to late-2000s like me, then there’s a good chance you played a bit of Fate. The charming aesthetic and whimsical art style made it an easier sell to parents compared to the grimdark trappings of other games such as Diablo . In fact, Fate was famously pre-installed on many Windows machines of the era, and that’s actually how I recall first being introduced to the series.
When I wrote this headline I paused for a moment because surely Fate didn’t release two entire decades ago. But unfortunately, the math checks out. The year 2005 was in fact 20 years ago.

Rather than playing a storyline that takes place across a large, bespoke map of carefully placed encounters and handcrafted dungeons, you’re all but guaranteed a different experience every time you play. Layouts, enemies, and loot are all randomized but it never felt scattered or unplanned.
Somehow, the magic of it all is that it felt intentional and structured, but it never really was. This screenshot is dripping with nostalgia On top of all that, it absolutely nailed the appeal for its target demographic of teens and young adults looking to unwind and play something bright, colorful, and not too serious without sacrificing depth and engagement. It’s a proper action RPG made for people who enjoy action RPGs, it just so happens to have personality and whimsy underneath it all.
Plus, you get to select an adorable pet to accompany you on your adventures and once you complete the game, the genius way of starting a new game involves creating a direct descendent of your previous character. I love clever mechanics like that. If you watch the trailer and look at the screenshots and feel like it resembles another popular action RPG series, don’t worry, you’re not going crazy.
Many of the team members behind Fate , actually went on to make the Torchlight games, so you could view that series as a sort of spiritual successor in more than one way. Dungeons in 'Fate' are procedurally generated Now that Fate is available in all of its remastered glory on not only PC, but across all three major consoles as well, hopefully it can find an even larger audience than before..
