Ahead of the reality show’s highly anticipated return this month , Channel 7 has finally announced the leading men hoping to find love on this year’s season of Farmer Wants A Wife . The new season will kick off on Monday, April 21, with Natalie Gruzlewski returning as the main host following Samantha Armytage's departure . While fans have expressed excitement over the new group of farmers, many have taken to social media to question why there are only four.
Channel 7 initially announced eight potential farmers on social media last year, and although Yahoo Lifestyle understands it was always expected that this would be reduced to a smaller group, this is the first time in the show’s history that there have only been four people selected. The first nine seasons starred six farmers and recent seasons have starred five, with the exception of last year when Todd Melbourne was brought in to replace Dean Blanckensee partway through filming. “Surely there’s a couple more than just four?” one person commented on social media, while another asked, “Why only four farmers?”.
RELATED: Others questioned the sudden disappearance of 26-year-old cattle farmer and professional bull rider Jack Rowlandson from Oberon, NSW, who was initially cast as one of this year’s leading men. “Where is Farmer Jack?” one fan questioned, followed by someone else who asked, “What happened to Farmer Jack?”. Why are there only four farmers this season? Channel 7 has confirmed in a statement to Yahoo Lifestyle that there were originally five farmers cast this season, but Jack Rowlandson’s scenes won’t be shown on TV.
“Eureka and Seven have decided not to include Jack Rowlandson’s storyline in the new season of Farmer Wants A Wife . We will not be providing any further comment,” they said. Little is known about why Jack was removed from the show, however, there is speculation that it’s because he wasn’t ready to settle down.
Sophie Trethowan , who found love last season with Dustin Manwaring , recently revealed to Yahoo Lifestyle that she had been in contact with one of Jack’s contestants who has been edited out of the show. “That was pretty devastating because of how much work goes into filming everything,” she remarked. “That's what I'm also interested to see, because how do they even go about editing all of that out? It’s definitely been a bit of a crazy season, by the sounds of it.
” Yahoo Lifestyle has contacted Jack Rowlandson for comment. Who are the four farmers this season? While Jack won’t appear on this year’s season of Farmer Wants A Wife , the reality show will be following four farmers from across Australia on their journey to find love. Farmer Corey 24-year-old up-and-coming fourth-generation farmer Corey from Biloela, Queensland, is hoping to find an open, honest, and family-oriented partner.
“I'm not here to find a girlfriend, I'm here to find my future wife, and once I do I’ll be loyal to a fault,” he says. “I want a partner who wants to have a family and puts family first.” Farmer Tom 31-year-old sheep farmer Tom from Borambola, New South Wales, is also looking for a wife to build a future and family with.
“Everyone desires love – they’re lying if they say they don’t,” he says, describing it as a combination of passion and attraction that brings joy and commitment. Farmer Jarrad The youngest lead this season is 21-year-old sheep and hemp farmer Jarrad from Stanthorpe, Queensland, who cares about traditional values including common respect, integrity, discipline and being there for one another. “Having your partner's back is important but also pushing each other to achieve your best,” he says.
“I’m very driven. I need someone who'll push me as hard as I push them so we can achieve our dreams together.” Farmer Thomas Rounding out the cast is 35-year-old farmer Thomas from South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, who describes himself as “open and honest” and can’t wait to get married and start his own family.
“My ideal partner is someone who shares the same values as me – loyalty, trust and being family-focused. A free spirit who enjoys fun and adventure.” SHOP: When does Farmer Wants A Wife 2025 premiere? The new season of Farmer Wants A Wife starts Monday, April 21, on Channel 7 and 7plus.
