FARGO — A chance to lace up your skates is coming to Fargo this weekend. The Fargo Park District is opening five of its 15 outdoor rinks to the public — Kennedy Park, Clara Barton, Centennial, Jefferson and Lemke parks. Broadway Square downtown also is open.
The district is excited to have an early opening in 2024, after a warm winter in 2023. "Typically, we shoot for a Christmas break. But this year, we're ahead of the game, and we're hopeful we're going to have a great winter and have ice, you know, throughout the entire winter," Tony Schmitt, Fargo Park Director, said.
And with warmer temperatures expected this weekend — highs in the low 30s — Schmitt said its a great chance to enjoy the outdoor rinks..
