Mike Tyson made his highly anticipated return to boxing on Friday night when he took on Jake Paul, but the fight ended up failing to even come close to the ridiculously high expectations that were set for it. While Tyson and Paul went the distance, it wasn't much of a surprise to see Paul ultimately win by unanimous decision. While Tyson had some vintage moments against Paul, it quickly became clear that he was not going to win this fight.
That shouldn't have been much of a surprise, though, as Tyson, who is 58 years old, is 31 years older than Paul, with Paul also having a considerable advantage with his longer reach over Tyson. There's no doubt that Tyson's return to the ring alone was impressive, but it quickly became clear that he does not have the same abilities he once had. As a result, fans everywhere were all calling for Tyson to retire after his loss to Paul.
End of an Era. I've watched Mike Tysons fights. No human would have survived an iron Mike punch to the head.
It's obvious that the once powerful punch is completely gone at 58yrs. Still a Legend..
.but it's time to retire and let go..

com/fHquCKYUkd Tyson is one of my favorite athletes of all time. It was a great experience getting to meet him but Mike, respectfully, it’s over. You’re a legend.
Go enjoy the rest of your life without boxing pic.twitter.com/1pLgmoEX1y Mike Tyson lasted 8 rounds at 58 years old vs a 27 year old boxer in the middle of his prime.
Should be extremely proud. Unc can finally retire. pic.
twitter.com/WyyMiUnoqu The fact that Tyson even chose to return to boxing at 58 years old is a bit of a shock, but he committed himself to the grind and went through some rigorous training. Again, the fact that he got himself in shape for a professional boxing match at that age is incredibly impressive.
But at this point, Tyson doesn't have much else left to prove. He's clearly not the fighter that he once was, but that's what happens when you get older. His legacy is set in stone, and he has nothing left to prove in the ring at this point in his career.
© Kevin Jairaj-Imagn Images Despite all that, Tyson refused to officially call it quits right after this fight wrapped up, even suggesting he could potentially take on Paul's brother, Logan, in another bout in the future. So while this fight did not go the way fans were hoping it would, it looks like we may not have seen the last of Tyson in the ring. Fans want him to retire, but that may not be what Tyson wants, which means it will be worth keeping tabs on him to see what his future holds.
