The release of Katy Perry's 148 album was met with hostility after the singer , Woman's World. It only got worse after the star began to tease even more songs. "What if there's more songs that come out soon?" she said on , seemingly hinting at a deluxe version of the album.

A fan on X, formerly known as , was quick to shut this down, though, as they wrote: " threatening to release more music." Music fans aren't the only ones griping about her latest release. Critics aren't exactly loving her latest album, either.

' music critic, Mark Kennedy, shared his brutal and honest thoughts on the "lackluster" project. He wrote: "Katy Perry’s new album title, '143,1 is code for 'I love you,' based on the number of letters in each word of the phrase. She may love us, but the album is more like 144 — 'I made mush.

'" The terrible music reviews are occurring in the aftermath of her single's release. Woman's World sparked controversy after she worked with music producer, Dr. Luke, who retained his job as collaborator for the album.

Dr. Luke was previously accused of assault and manipulation by Kesha. These claims led to a drawn-out legal battle, climaxing in a settlement and a joint statement shared in June 2023.

But fans remained loyal to Kesha, fueling the #FreeKesha movement and refusing support for Katy's supposed feminist song linking her tohim. The final nail seemed to be driven home when Kesha responded with a simple "lol." as chatter of Katy's project arose.

Meanwhile, one fan took to X, once known as Twitter, airing their disbelief: "Katy Perry just did a 'women empowerment' song with publicly know abuser Dr Luke and Kesha just did a TED talk about how music helped her through Dr Luke's abuse." In a promotional video, Katy Perry was seen deflated and lying on the ground due to visual effects. She then inflates herself back up like a balloon.

Fans were quick to draw parallels between this imagery and that used by Kesha to symbolize her own trauma. When Kesha released her album, Gag Order, she posted an image of her deflated body lying next to her.
