Family-run carpet company opens for business

A family-run flooring company has opened its doors. The Cozy Carpet Company began trading in Spalding ’s Sheep Market last Wednesday (April 16), offering a bespoke service for all price ranges. “We can go from very cheap carpet for rentals, and that sort of thing, up to you Axminster and Penthouse,” said Catherine North, who has set up shop with daughter Alex.

“Basically from £8.99 up to £100 per metre, depending of what people want. “We also do vinyls and LVT - which is luxury vinyl tile.



There’s something for everybody.” After an expected ‘slow start’ when opening up just before the Easter Bank Holidays, trade is already picking up for the new business. “We’ve had people in and we have measures already and it’s also been picking up on social media,” added Catherine.

“I’ve been in carpets for years but this is our first venture on our own.” With a wide-ranging selection of samples in store, as well as further designs available, Cozy Carpet Company hopes to find the perfect flooring for any property. Catherine and Alex are among the team who will visit properties to undertake the measuring before a team of fitters can install the chose flooring.

The business also offers Blue Light Discount for the emergency services, NHS, social care sector and armed forces. “Its not something most carpet businesses do but we have been asked before and we think it is very important,” Catherine added.
