A multimillion-dollar home in one of Perth’s richest suburbs has captured international attention for its stunning design. Sitting on the banks of the Swan River in Mosman Park, Casablanca caught the eye of leading designers around the world, picking up two awards and outshining its European competition. The home, which was designed by family-owned interior design business Sherwood Design, blends contemporary style with Spanish Colonial heritage.
The property scooped up the regional winner for the Australasia region in the residential house over $1 million category at the 2024 SBID International Design Awards and a gold medal for residential interior design at the French Design Awards. Belle Magazine’s editor-in-chief Tanya Buchanan also took a liking to the beautifully-designed mansion, featuring an eight-page spread on it. Sherwood Design director Gabrielle Sherwood said the recognition “validates the hard work” that went into the project.
“It feels surreal to see my work in the pages of a magazine that shaped — and continues to shape — my appreciation for considered design,” she said. “Casablanca reflects the client’s personality while maintaining the high standards we bring to every project.” “Being recognised internationally not only validates the hard work and passion we pour into every project but also highlights the ability of a Perth business to shine among the world’s best.
