Ludhiana: High drama unfolded at the court complex on Monday when the family of a woman who had eloped and married her lover confronted her at the court to which she had come seeking protection. Her family attacked her and clashed with the man and his relatives before police intervened. Police said the couple had married against their families’ wishes and applied for protection in court.
Upon learning of the court appearance, the woman’s family arrived and confronted the man’s relatives. The woman’s family claimed she was married in Nakodar a year ago and accused the man of abducting her. The man’s family denied the allegation, stating the woman willingly eloped and married him.
