Damage could be seen to five cars on the major road Families were enjoying dinner when a "huge bang" was heard after a crash. Police were called to the junction of Aigburth Road and Mersey Road, Aigburth at around 7.15pm on Sunday, December 15.
A force incident manager for Merseyside Police told the ECHO the crash involved a van and two parked cars. Photos taken at the scene showed damage caused to five vehicles and debris scattered across the street. The crash happened next to restaurants AMICI and Sakara and one person told the ECHO how they heard a "huge bang" before seeing the chaos outside.
Two cars had severe damage to the bonnets after smashing into trees and others had damage to the car doors. People could still be seen enjoying meals and drinks following the crash. Police closed one lane on Aigburth Road, however traffic was able to move freely and recovery arrived at around 9pm to remove the vehicles.
