Atlanta Falcons safety Jessie Bates didn't mince words when he was discussing Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix this week. Bates was asked about Nix and how the Falcons have been preparing for him when he roasted him for how long he played in college. "We've been watching him in college for the past 10 years," Bates said .

Even though Nix was in college for five years, he's in the NFL now and is playing well. He had a rough start in his first three games with no touchdown passes and four interceptions but has thrown 10 touchdowns and only two interceptions in his last seven games. Icon Sportswire/Getty Images Nix has helped the Broncos get to 5-5 overall and has them in the thick of the playoff race in the AFC.

They were a blocked field goal away from giving the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss last week. He finished that game with 215 yards through the air, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. The Oregon product has a cannon for an arm and isn't afraid to use it, whether he's in the pocket or on the move.

The Falcons come in with a 6-4 record, good for first in the NFC South. They're two games up on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and three games up on the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints. Bates could be looking a bit foolish if Nix goes out there and balls out on Sunday.

He'd have to answer questions from the media about it before the Falcons' next game. Kickoff for Sunday's game will be at 4:05 p.m.
