In the new Fact or Fiction, I tackle Arch Manning, Miami going undefeated and Georgia being overrated

In today’s Fact or Fiction I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION . 1. Arch Manning will take Quinn Ewers job.

Farrell’s take: FICTION Manning looked very impressive in relief duty against UTSA and he will play another game or so until Ewers heals from his abdomen strain. However, despite the hype it is clear to everyone that Ewers is much better, more polished and experienced than Manning and that will be huge as SEC play begins. Manning was overrated out of high school but is developing nicely and can’t be rushed into a critical role just yet.

2. Miami is going to run the table. Farrell’s take: FICTION The Canes look great but let’s pump the brakes.

They’ve beaten a clearly inept Florida team as well as an FCS team and Ball State. While the schedule is looking easier and easier as we learn how horrible Florida State is and how Wake Forest, Duke and others are mid as expected, an undefeated run won’t happen. They will be favored in every game moving forward but this isn’t a 12-0 team.

Yes, UGA always has one road test that makes them struggle but this was alarming. UGA didn’t dominate in the trenches, they didn’t look as fast as I expected and they likely should have lost based on a few calls and coaching decisions. I’m not sure they are the favorite to win the SEC anymore.
