"Despite the grainy quality and absence of night vision technology, the forensic report confirms matches across all 12 observation points with the arrested man," said an officer. The footage was forwarded to FSL after police informed magistrate Komalsingh Rajput at Bandra court on Jan 24 about requiring a facial recognition test, securing extended police custody until Jan 29.
Shariful was subsequently remanded in judicial custody Wednesday and is lodged at Arthur Road Jail. Police await FSL's DNA profiling results of Shariful's cap and other materials seized from Saif's flat. "Testing perspiration found on the seized materials will strengthen the case," said a cop.
Blood samples from Saif, staff nurse and Shariful's clothes were also sent to verify blood stains found on attacker's clothes..
