Lando Norris saw his 2024 F1 title hopes go up in smoke at the Brazilian Grand Prix as he failed to take advantage of his pole position. The Briton was shown up by Red Bull star Max Verstappen on the day, with the Dutchman moving through the pack to secure victory after starting in P17. The result moved the three-time world champion 62 points clear of Norris at the top of the Drivers’ Championship standings with three races remaining.
And Verstappen will have his first chance to wrap up the title at the Las Vegas Grand Prix later this month. If Verstappen is unable to get the job done in the USA, he will be afforded further opportunities to close out the season in Qatar and Abu Dhabi, with the season set to end on Sunday, December 8. There will then be plenty of changes come the end of the season, with a whole host of drivers on the move.
Lewis Hamilton is heading to Ferrari to take the place of Carlos Sainz , who has found a seat with Williams next year.
