The qualifying session for the Las Vegas Grand Prix was heavily delayed after Franco Colapinto went into the barriers in the final sector of Q2. The in-demand Williams driver managed to get his lap in, but was not able to get into Q3 and the medical car was quickly deployed for the Argentinian. However, such a precaution was not necessary and Colapinto got out of the car and confirmed that he was not seriously injured over the team radio.
Max Verstappen can seal his fourth consecutive Driver's Championship this weekend if results go his way, though McLaren and Lando Norris have been tipped to outdo the Dutchman in Nevada. The Red Bull man is 62 points ahead of Norris after winning in Brazil last time out, with 60 points available after Vegas, allowing Norris to need to be within 59 points to keep his hopes alive.
