An 'extremely rare' 50p coin featuring King Charles is being sold by a Bolton resident for more than £5,000. The coin has been listed on eBay for £5,086.72 – a big step up from its stated value of 50p.

The listing says the coin is "super extremely rare". It is described as "an extremely rare piece" and a "must-have for any coin collector". The coin was circulated in 2022, after being minted to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III.



It was the first coin to bear his image after he was crowned king, and his likeness faces left - in line with tradition.
