Extreme Northern Luzon is being affected by a frontal system on Monday, which will bring cloudy skies and rains, PAGASA said in its weather forecast. Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao are the areas affected by the frontal system or the zone where the hot and cold winds meet. These areas may have moderate to at times heavy rains which may possibly result in flash floods or landslides.
The easterlies or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean meanwhile are affecting the rest of the country. Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly result in flash floods or landslides.
"For the rest of the country naman po, patuloy pa rin ang maaliwalas at mainit na panahon ngayong araw," DOST-PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres said in the weather bureau's 5 a.m. Public Weather Forecast, adding that isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may also occur towards the end of the day.
